Planning & Regulations
Generally speaking, adding a conservatory to your home will not require an application for planning permission or building regulations.
Adding a conservatory to your house is considered to be permitted development, not needing an application for planning permission, subject to certain limits and conditions.
Conservatories are normally exempt from building regulations, subject to certain criteria.
Water Authority Build-Over Agreements
An application for a build-over agreement is normally required when proposing to build a conservatory or other structure within 3 metres of a public sewer.
It is unlikely that you will need to apply for planning permission or building regulations for a conservatory, however, from time to time, regulations are subject to change. Everseal can advise you on all aspects of current regulations in relation to adding a conservatory or orangery to your home.

Under new regulations that came into effect from 1 October 2008, adding a conservatory to your home is considered to be a permitted development, not normally needing an application for planning permission. A. This depends on the size and style of your conservatory, as well as groundwork/building work required. On average, building a conservatory on conventional foundations will take around 3 weeks. If you choose our ConservaBase system, this can be reduced to around 3 days.
Q. I have a bungalow. Can I still have a conservatory of any style?
A. In nearly all circumstances, yes. We will manufacture your conservatory to overcome any height restrictions.
